Epic Adventure -- Day 88 -- 25/11/2012 -- Selebi Phikwe

Most likely as a result of our first night of drinking everyone in the house slept very late this morning. Nigel slept until about 9:45 and we didn't fully wake up until just after 10:00. It was a much needed rest and it took several cups of tea and coffee on the front porch before we were ready to face the day. We sat and talked for quite some time over our drinks; mostly about the housing market in Britain and the mortgage industry and its peculiarities. Before we even knew it we had spent 2 hours chatting and figured we should mobilise if we wanted to grab breakfast soon.

We all piled in Nigel's car and drove just down the road to the Lesters to have another cup of coffee or tea with them. It became clear that the Lesters wanted to join us for breakfast/lunch, so we spent another 2.5 hours chatting and having coffee with them before we realised we had missed breakfast and would likely miss lunch if we didn't leave soon. Nigel drove us to a very nice lodge a few km out of town and there we procured a table for 5 and waited for the Lesters to join us. They arrived about half an hour later and we all had a peruse of the menu. I wanted to order the lamb curry and Jenny wanted the kudu steak. Unfortunately we found out that lamb and kudu were the two items that the lodge didn't have in stock so we settled for a prawn curry and steak dianne.

By the time we had finally placed our order it was 15:30 and we were getting desperately hungry. The bottle of wine that Di ordered for the table made the wait a little bit easier and we we all having a grand time chatting away. Though once an hour and a half had passed we were getting a bit concerned that we wouldn't be eating anything today. Eventually, after ordering the second bottle of wine, our food arrived at 17:00. Nigel's bacon cheeseburger arrived without bacon and he did not take kindly to this oversight considering the wait. We had our food which turned out to be worth the wait and finished up the second bottle of wine. Di very kindly offered to pay and we departed from our breakfast at 17:45! Once we got home Jenny searched Pintrest for quite a while I played on Facebook. Nigel watched a movie in the lounge while we kept busy on the computers and we all headed to sleep fairly late.
