We woke up at 7:30 feeling well despite the massive amounts of alcohol consumed last night. Dries and Nicola arrived home last night about 1:00 and had clearly continued drinking after we departed judging by their fragility this morning. Dries, Nicola and Jonathan packed all of their things and loaded them to take to the house, they would be leaving with Chantel for Cape Town soon after breakfast.
When we arrived at the house we found that Gary had started a fire for the braai earlier and we would be having homemade grilled pizzas for breakfast! We all went inside and made our pizzas before moving outside to chat while we waited for Gary to cook them. It was a very bright morning much to the chagrin of all the hungover people gathered on the porch. We spent most of our wait exchanging stories from last night, including Mike being so drunk he was talking to people who weren't there. The pizzas were amazing and just what we needed to cure our hangovers.
When the food was finished and we had chatted for a little while longer Chantel, Dries, Nicola and Jonathan loaded their bags into Chantel's car and departed for Cape Town. Jonathan was forced to drive the first leg of the trip because he was the only one who was not still drunk! I felt sorry for them, having a 7 hour drive in their current states, but they did bring it upon themselves. Once we had said our goodbyes and seen them off we laid down for a nap in the sun. All 10 remaining people were scattered across the porch and the lawn, nearly all of us asleep for the next our or so. Gary was sleeping in the middle of the lawn and when people started to wake up we decided to rouse Gary by turning on the sprinklers :D. Evette claimed she had never seen him move that quickly.
After waking Gary up in this rather disruptive manner the cousins packed up all their things and departed the farm for Port Elizabeth. Once they had left there were only 5 people remaining, Jenny, Mike, Gary, Evette and myself. We spent most of the afternoon lounging around, snoozing in the sun and the shade and reading before staring the Weber for a braai of mutton ribs. Evette produced a 'braai rib rack' from inside the house but we had no idea how it was supposed to be used. Because we couldn't be bothered to find the instructions for the rib rack we simply put the rack in between the 2 stacked racks of ribs and it worked wonderfully.
Dinner was so delicious, Evette had forgotten to wash the salt marinade off the ribs, but Jenny loves salt and so adored the ribs, we just drank tonnes of water to compensate. We also had some pasta salad and amazing potato salad that Evette's sister had made the day before, perfection! After dinner we all pulled up a chair right next to the still warm Weber and sat and chatted whilst having a few more drinks before calling it a night. Despite the amount of sleep we had during the day we we still shattered from the night before and headed to sleep early.
