Epic Adventure -- Day 35 -- 3/10/2012 -- Cape Town

Despite managing to stay awake until almost midnight last night we were all up early this morning. Jenny and I both realise that we need to start staying up later, with the wedding in only a week we cannot be falling asleep at 19:00 anymore ( unless we want to be asleep by the start of our own wedding dinner ) Jenny and Lesley made token tea and coffee to fully wake us up and we all settled in for a morning of work. My first task was to finish several days of blog posts. We had gotten nearly 5 days behind and desperately needed to do some catching up. I suppose that's the trouble with these blogs; the more we do the more we have to write about, but the less time we have to write -- catch 22 if I ever saw one.

Lesley and Jenny busied themselves sorting out the wedding favours, fans and all other paraphernalia whilst was tasked with writing out the place cards. We programmed the sat nav for Lesley to take her to Canal Walk, a huge shopping centre in Cape Town, as she had jobs to do, such as buy curtains for their new home in Lusaka. Jenny and I were hungry at this point and we walked down to the R109 all you can eat sushi place we had spotted the day before. Jenny ordered a fanta orange, which tasted a little like metal for some weird reason so we switched it for fanta grape. I lost count of how many pieces of sushi we had, but it was two large plates with rainbow rolls, maki rolls, rainbow sandwiches, this awesome prawn roll, sashimi and salmon roses!! It was absolutely divine, we struggled to finish it all but we did :D

At this point we phoned mum to ask her how Canal walk was going, but it turned out that the sat nav that I had programmed had taken her to the wrong place, and she ended up circling the airport! Oops! We were to meet Chantel at Canal Walk for dinner, and mum needed to do some shopping, so around 3 we left for the centre. It is huge!! We went to Woolworths first to look at curtains, and we ended up buying some lovely blue ones for the main bedroom. Because the car was so close, we dropped them all off in there, smart plan as they weighed a ton. We also walked to sheet street, another home type shop, where mum got curtains for the lounge. I was the one who opted to carry the bags back to the car, I definitely underestimated how heavy the bags were and how far the. A was.

We met up with Chantel in the food court foyer, and decided on Ocean Basket for our dinner, a wonderful seafood restaurant. Dan and Chantel both ordered the seafood platter, with calamari, mussels, prawns and line fish. Mum and I shared a calamari and a haloumi starter, and a 12 prawn main, it was delicious!!! It was a great dinner, lots of laughter and amazing seafood, mum was very happy as she really wanted seafood. The drive home was slightly difficult for me as it was raining quite hard, so I was grateful when we got home and went to sleep!
