Epic Adventure -- Day 36 -- 4/10/2012 -- Cape Town

First thing this morning we phoned a salon Chantel had recommended to book mum in for a hair cut. Luckily they had a spot at 11:30 for a colour cut and dry, which was perfect timing for us as we would the have enough time to get to the Waterfront 2kms away to see Joy and Ollie at 2:00pm. When we dropped mum off I went in to ask if anyone could cut my fringe for me, as the guy who had cut my hair told me to leave it long for the curls for the wedding day, but I didn't like it so I wanted it shorter. A really nice man sat me down and trimmed it, and once he was done refused to be paid!! Brilliant :D

Dan and I then asked trip advisor what points of interest there were nearby which is when we realised that the Waterfront was so close, and we headed there. Our one main task was to try and find Dan a chain for his bullet that we had collected earlier in the morning. The jeweller we found in the shopping centre near us had drilled two holes in it, on either side of the top of the bullet. We went to Woolworths and dismantled a few necklaces until we found the one that suited the bullet the best. We also went to MTN to find out about data bundles for our iPhone, but at R289 for one GB, when you get one for R99 when you buy a new sim card, I think we will just ask mum to get us a new sim card when she gets here!

We were both feeling a little peckish at thus stage so we went to find a little bar restaurant near the water. We shared an Italian antipasti of cheeses, ham, ciabatta, sundries tomatoes and olives. Dan ordered wine whilst I had a gorgeous cocktail called sun blush. Whilst enjoying our meal we watched the woman's ICC cricket, which I honestly feel is a bit pathetic to watch in comparison to the mens I'm used too! The most hilarious part of our meal came at the end when the waitress came to pick up the plate, bumped the glass of red wine, Dan went to grab it and it ended up splashing across the table and onto the wall! It managed to miss the iPad the laptop, the iPhone, Dan and I!! The lady then brought Dan another glass of wine, and these glasses are not strictly measured as they are in the UK, and so she brought him another 300ml glass of red wine! I guess I'm driving :D

After our meal we drove back to get mum, expecting her to be done as it was about 3:45 by the time we got there. She was only just started getting it cut!! This was a little stressful as we where to meet Joy and Ollie at 2:00pm. We phoned them to apologise, and we ended up getting there at 2:20pm. We enjoyed our drinks with them, however we had a few starters as mum had had no lunch yet and we were still a little hungry. After drinks we took mum to change some money, and also to pretend to need a new pay as you go sim card for us. We also grabbed a couple more steaks for our dinner in a while with Doug and his son Robbie back at our flat. At Woolworths I also bought a packet of my favourite biscuits and a divine bath oil by Moya, made by a friend of mines mother.

We the headed back to the flat to prepare food and wait for Doug and Robbie. They arrived a little later than normal, due to a series of unfortunate events on their side, but as we were only cooking steak it was no issue. Unfortunately we only found out as we served him that Robbie does not eat meat, oops!! We gave him a bunch of salad and cookies, and sang happy birthday to him as we found out it was his birthday :) Dan passed out early, but we had a great time chatting to Doug and Robbie until it was time for them to head home and for us to go to sleep :D
